HOT AIR BALLOONS FROM OF 160 COUNTRIES WILL COLOR THE SKY OF IZMIR
180 Hot air balloons from 160 countries will fill the skies of Izmir from September 9 to 20. The festival will be attended by 1.5 million visitors and also serve as a great opportunity for EXPO.

NUMBER OF TURKEYS CANDIDATE SITES FOR UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE LIST INCREASED TO
Turkish Republic Culture and Tourism Minister Ertuğrul Günay declared at a meeting with UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova in Istanbul that the number of Turkey’s candidate sites for the UNESCO World Heritage has risen to 38.

3000 YEAR OLD STATUE OF HITTITE KING SUPPILULIUMA DISCOVERED AT TELL TAYINAT IN HATAY’S REYHANLI DISTRICT
The excavation team, constituted of 47 persons from 8 countries and led by Professor Timothy Harrison from the University of Toronto, discovered by the Tell Tayinat Tumulus in Hatay’s Reyhanlı district the statue of the ruler of the Hittite period.
